I recently bought a boat which had this anchor on it. I had played with it a few times in my garage while I was figuring it out and it worked fine. I only lowered it the five feet or so to my garage floor. Well I went to wind it back up this last time and it started to slow down and then stop. I unhooked the battery and pulled the cover off and found that a good length of rope had been misfed and not wound onto the spool, but wound its way around the right side of the spinning shaft and bound everything up. I untangled everything and have it ready to wind up on the spool, but I can't get it to turn on now. Battery is hooked back up, but I press "UP" to wind it up and nothing happens. I don't know what happened. Is there a reset or fuse or something that might shut the unit down in this type of situation?

I have never seen one in person or know how they are setup, BUT, you can easily trouble shoot yours easily. With the battery connected, is there any voltage getting to the boat winch at all. I mean can you verify that the power is coming to the switches in the winch. If there is voltage making it there then you should be able to locate where the power is lost. If on the other hand you can't read any voltage at the power winch, then you have to track that power problem back towards the battery or maybe even a fuse or circuit breaker along the way...
