MINN KOTA DOESNT STEER..just thrust

I have a 55lb thrust minn kota, about 5 years old, not used heavily. All I can do is thrust hte motor, I have to manually move the head to point it in the direction I want.

If i push the auto pilot button, the motor does move side to side on its own.
Is the issue on the foot board?

I have the co pilot on this motor as well, and the co pilot doesnt work either in any way.

any help where I can start looking for issues would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a V-2 or older then the Co-Pilot and foot pedal cannot be plugged in at the same time. (even tho there is a plug for them)

I have tried them seperately, doesnt work.
Even bought a new remote for the co pilot, and still nothing.

When you buy a new remote for the co pilot, is there anything to configure to match it up to the motor, like you would with like a garage door opener or something?

Yes it has to be programed to match. Its pretty simple. If I can find the instructions I will post it for you.

Here you go, it was easier to find than I thought. The receiver has to learn the ID number of the remote.
Press and hold the learn button on the side of the receiver (its very small). The receiver will then emit a continuous tone. Then press any button on the remote and the receiver will beep 4 times confirming it has learned the ID of the remote. Thats it.
