Can anyone possibly tell me what the extra wire is coming from the upper end of my trolling motor? I've just purchased a 20ft deck boat with a Minn Kota 80lb 24volt trolling motor with AutoPilot. I've verified that the motor works fine as well as the autopilot. But there's also a wire zip tied along the coiled wire from the head and following the power plug. It has a 3 pin connector on the end, but I don't know what it used to plug into. Any help or guesses with this is appreciated.

First -- You don't have a "Power Glide" since that was an automatic transmission that first appeared in the 1950 Chevrolet. You have a "Power Drive". Now that we have that cleared up, the extra lead is probably for the built in transducer for a fish finder. Various adapter cables are available to allow connecting that cable to virtually any fish finder.

That's the answer I was hoping for, now I just need to come up with a second fishfinder to bowmout, and an adapter.
Your absolutly right, I actually had as my first car, a '65 Chevelle with a 283 and a powerglide 2 speed transmission. I remember getting up to 55 or 60 in 1st gear when mashing on it before it would jump into second gear. OOOOhhhhh the memories.
Thanks for the info, and the trip down memory lane.
