Minn Kota problem

I bought a new Terrova 101 about two months ago and three new batteries. The red auto pilot won't turn on and when I try to turn the toe pedal left it turns right. The heel pedals and the green auto button is working properly. I've checked every connection and have wired the batteries in a few different setups. I have had everything working properly once so I know its possible. I hate to take it in because its brand new. Its functioning like its only running off of one or two batteries. What could it be?

Did you check the voltage at the connector where you plug it in? You should have 36 VDC. If you do by all means take it back and let them fix it while its under warranty. You might want to have the batteries load tested too. It wouldn't be the first time a new battery was bad.

You said you tried several different wiring configurations. There is only one configuration for 36V and it is as follows:

If this is how you have things wired, then let MinnKota fix it as it is under warranty.

Has anyone else gone though this problem, steering in the wrong direction and auto pilot not turning on? I can't figure out what else could be causing it to do that.

I noticed that my ground cable came off. I reconnected it and it wont work. Do you think it fried a fuse? I couldn't find the fuse. Or do you think the whole unit is fried?
Thanks in advanced.

JIUJEETZ -- you just jumped into someone elses thread. Besides, you already have a response to the same question in your thread. double posting is a no-no. It is tough enough to keep track of long threads dealing with a single issue without someone else dumping their problem into the mix.
