Minn Kota Terrova Steering failure

I have a 2007 Terrova 80lb trolling motor. I have recently developed steering problems. It suddenly stopped turning to the Left while being able to turn to Right at normal rate. When I returned to the dock, it would then only slowly turn to the Right. The thrust of the motor functions normally and battery charge level indicates fully charged. The response is the same whether I use the foot control or press the left and right turn buttons on the foot controller. I am wondering if it is steering motor.
