Hi All,
I am repairing an Endura 50 that I bought second hand. It is missing both Clamp Washers 2011710 although both Clamp Screws 2011710 are present.
What is the best way to reattach the Clamp Washer to the Clamp Screw so that the Washer spins freely on the Clamp Screw?
I am thinking 2 methods:
1) using a metal file, reduce the diameter of Screw for about 1/4 inch length so that Washer has a slip fit on the Screw. Then mash/deform the end of the screw to " capture" the Washer. Mashing would probably have to be done with heavy ViseGrips as lifting/positioning the motor with Transom Bracket to my bench vise would be difficult unless I can get a helper.
2) Drill or file the Inside Diameter of the Washer until the Screw (with threads intact) can just barely be inserted through the Washer. Turn a nut down the shaft of the Screw to act as a stop, preventing the Washer from sliding down too far. Then use an e-clip or c-clip or tinnerman Clip, etc on the threads of the screw (inside the cup of the Washer) to hold the washer from falling off the screw.
Anybody got any other ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Dave
