Minnkota Autopilot - 12v or 24v?

I recently bought a used 42lb Autopilot. The previous owner was pretty sure he was running it on 24v. I hooked it up to 12v because all 42lb motors I've seen are 12v. Is there a possibility that it does run on 24v? Is there a way I can find out from the motor?

Thanks

Howdy, KevBob.

My AP40 is 12volt. I know that there are 24 volt models up in the 70lb+ range.

Check with Minn-Kota. I'm pretty sure you have a 12volt model.

Good luck. :)

kevbob,

Don't use the Minn-Kota for extended straight line trolling or you'll burn it out.

Kevbob,

I have a AP36 and a AP50 and both are 12volt

I think that the 12/24 starts at 55# to 60# Thrust.

Tight Lines and Solid Hook Sets :)

Thanks for the input. I'll just keep running it on 12v.

kevbob
