Just wanted to share my findings on this relatively new trolling motor. I haven't yet try it out in pond/lake yet, but did a run in a loaded environment (garbage can with water) alongside 2 x Panasonic 12V VRLA 17AH batteries hooked up in parallel for a total of 34AH at 12V. The Pulse Width Modulation controller used in this trolling unit did seem quite efficient and was able to run continuously for 4 hours under 30% throttle until I terminated the test (30 that's printed on the handle out of 100). The onboard battery tester registered 1 out of 4 (4 for newly charged state). Unfortunately I forgot to register the voltage at the time :grumpy:.

Battery was taken out of a APC 1500VA uninterruptable power supply unit that were about 3 years old and was "deemed" bad from it's own indicator.

Verdict
Extremely efficient unit given the small battery used for this test. I wanted to give it a test run after all and not run the chance of getting stranded out in the middle of a lake and having to oar back.

Happy boating!
