I'm having a problem with losing power as the rpm are coming up as well as a steady miss in one cylinder. It's aggravated by using the trim but I can't find a short in that system. I thought the new coil and wires had solved this problem but its starting again. Also any suggestions for type of spark plugs for this engine would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sometimes it's not an electrical problem. Try adjusting the fuel mixture on the carbs. It could be to lean.

Check your exhaust manifold... If it has a hairline crack (the older cast iron ones are popular for cracking) it will spread under the exhaust heat and kill the #4 cylinder.

I just changed mine over to an aluminum manifold and no more problems.

Also check your coil... when coils fail they tend to fail at higher rpm and when heated up.

Bob
