I recently purchesed a 1986 90 hp Mecury Engine. I had the enginge checked out and the compression test went fine. The only problem was that when the engine was running it was missing a little above idle. The previous owner had the carburators rebuilt around 6 months ago. So I took it out and ran some carb cleaner through the fuel system and nothing changed. I talked with the person who done the carburator rebuild and he told me that the lambert seals needed to be replaced on the motor. The motor looks brand new like it had been sitting up for a while in the garage. The mech. that did the buyers check thinks we can get it back running great with a carburator rebuild. Is there something physical you would see if the lambert seal went out on
the moter. This is my first boat and I'm not sure which way to go.
