Ive been struggling and almost at my wits end. This is a Tecumseh 7.5 and I request, please, mods not move this thread. There's currently 250 people viewing this section and 13 viewing the "other" section. My original thread can be seen here:

I can't imagine any extreme differences in carbs amongst brands. Originally the fuel pump element was torn, the wrong plug was installed, and after ordering a rebuild kit I learn the seat needle was simply MIA...this all had the carb running very rich with fuel spewing from the weep/vent holes. After a complete rebuild, Even measuring float clearance opposed to simply eyeballing it "level" with the carb body, now she's running lean. Afterwards I even adjusted the float to allow more fuel in the bowl. I created an electric power drill starter which video can be seen in my original thread. She will only start in gear full throttle. Will not idle in neutral or run slow speed.

I'm feeling really distraught damn near admitting defeat :-(
I've now got the carb apart and soaking in vinegar over night. It's almost a last resort. Maybe there's some tarnish buildup that's just enough to lean it out? When I pull the plug now it's dry and white, no good. The main jet bolt that holds the bowl in place is the one with just a single hole in the stem. I'm thinking to open it just a bit if the vinegar doesn't work.

Please help!
