Missing lifting point

I don't wish to seem like I am soliciting help on this forum(I was told I was doing that by asking a question), but I need some help here. I need to pull my 50 HP force so that I can rebuild my transom. Can't seem to find the lifting eye. Anyone have an idea how best to attach my hoist to the motor so I can lift it off the transom?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Missing lifting point

Most people attach a lifting eye by bolting a bracket to the flywheel.

Like this.

BTW, if these forums aren't for soliciting help, what are they for?

Re: Missing lifting point

You misinterpreted: It is not allowed to solicit to buy or sell or to pay for services. That can be done in a private message after initial contact.

Sometimes the phrasing of the question will make it appear to be solicitation. Thus it is not allowed to ask for someone to sell you parts, (example: Hey, my carbs are shot. Anyone have one for sale?) but it is allowed to ask where parts can be purchased. A seller can offer you parts in a private message to you OR you can send a private message to a specific person asking if they would sell you parts.

I see Frank. Not the kind of help I was thinking of I guess.

Re: Missing lifting point

Now I see how to attach the lifting eye. I'll need to go looking for parts.

Frank, my initial post was an inquiry if anyone knew where to find a tower shaft, not if anyone had one for sale. Therefore I wasn't soliciting anything, simply inquiring about where to find a specific part, not purchase one. BTW, I'm still in need of a Force 50 tower shaft if anyone knows where I can find one.
