Missing parts from '66 20hp ('68 diagram referenced, but is same)

In the manual pic for my motor, I see a #11 part above my water pump assembly...Is this shown out of place?
I don't see any o-ring above my pump.

I also see (2) #30 parts in the diagram...Are these shown on the wrong sides of the gears?
I don't see them at all, when I disassemble my lower unit.
This scares me.
Did someone put this together without the thrust washers?


Can anyone tell me if this is normal?

Thanks...Yes...Same parts...11 & 30 missing from my engine.

Well at least know you know for sure the part numbers you need.
Double check and make sure #30 is not in the gears, sometimes oil will hold them there.

Nope...They just aren't there.
I'd like to get my hands on the last guy that serviced this motor.
The power head appears to be in good shape, but everything below is a mess.

Well...The parts were there...Just not in the right places.
They are now assembled correctly & waiting for me to get the water pump back together.

FYI #11 is the driveshaft 0-ring - it seats in the groove at the top of the driveshaft and has nothing to do with the waterpump...
