MK Fortrex 80 Coming Today

I posted this over in the Elec Forum ,,,,,,, Well I had my 1st mishap Friday,,,,,I accidently hit something with my MG WR55 Trolling motor. I now know my disability hinders me in quickly pulling that thing up & back in a hurry. I broke the aluminum ears right off the release handle from the impact, it buckled under the bow & bang went the ears. Putting my right foot between the anchor mate plus watching that I don't step on my fish finder, then grabbing the top of the motor, pulling it up & back with me being disabled didn't quite work fast enough.
Well the Dealer was confused about ordering me a Maxxum 55 because he thought it had the new "Lift Assist" & "Sonar", he even called Minn Kota, it wound up being that the Maxxum Pro is now the Fortrex. I went a head & moved up to the 80 24V because Fotrex don't offer a 55lb. This should make my deploying & Stowing a snap with my Disability. They do have to add a battery for the 24Volt & should be delivered today.

That really sucks that it got damaged. Given your imperment, there's nothing you could have done. Maybe you can sell some of the compoents from the Motor Guide. I'm sure there's still some salvagable parts that someone could use and want to buy. Try Kijiji or Craiglist or here even.

Actually my Dealer is trying for a Warranty claim since they're a Motorguide dealer but I'm waiting for the answer on that.
