Moching up some new seats for our Qween Merrie. The boat came stripped so Im building everything from the ground up. I decided to start with 2x4's, its a lot easier to swallow when a mistake is made. Once I get them fitted to the correct size and comfort zone I plan on building the permanent pair out of mahogany. I saw a post from another member and his seat build and fell in love! Ive attached a pic.

I have a 1961 Queen Merrie that I've just gutted. Getting ready to put a floor back in. Very interested in seat ideas but not sure where you are going with yours.

Re: Moch Seats For The Qween

I'm doing simple back to back seats. The picture above is only one seat.

I plan on a 12 gal fuel tank under the port seat and 2 batteries under the starboard seat. This way the cockpit is free of all the nessessary clutter.

Once I get home I will post some more pictures of the work in progress. I got the seats in the boat last night and was toying with placement. I still need to put the seat tops on and the back rests along with some padding =).

I will more than likely use the 2x4 seats for the season and decide if I like them or not. If I decide I want to stick with them I will remove them this winter and build a pair in mahogany.
