model identification B at the end?

hi, I just bought a evinrude 25 hp model E25RCNB I know the meaning of everything in the model number except the B at the end.<br /><br />what this letter mean?

1982 Rope start.....Letter "B" is production run....means nothing to us, but the factory has records on a particular "Run", time period, or group.<br />And by the way, Welcome to iboats!! :)

Production run "B" could mean that the heads were cast from mold 314 (which by the way is the same as mold 313 but has had the flow tube enlarged, the waterpumps were from supplier 6, and the crankshafts were from subcontractor xyz.

i was tought that if it is a M it means produced in Mexico a B would be Belgium?<br />I might be wrong.

There is always atleast one letter in front of the number on OMC, which indicates either "J"-Johnson, or "E"-Evinrude.<br />If there is a letter designation BEFORE the J, or E, this indicates "where" the engine was built.<br />In the case of this engine, the letter "B" is the final symbol, and represents a variation that is not important to the consumer or dealer.
