Model number/ year query, 6hp 'rude and plug lead

I am trying to help someone with a problem. He tels me the engine is a '78 6 hp Evinrude and has given me the model number 68B67B. However I cant make sense of that number. Can anyone help please.

His problem is that he as pulled a plug lead out of an Ht coil . The parts diagrams show the lead integral with the coil on a '78 model. Later models ('84 onwards) had the lead quite separate.

Any ideas for putting this right. Thanks

That's a good model number. It is a 1978. It seems like it must be a "foreign" model to us in USA, but I see you are in UK, so that would make sense. Other than the model # is in the book, I have no other information on it.
