So, had a good day on the water and as usual i did some running just to do some running and i realized i always stand with face above the windsheild as i have on all my boats over the years.

I like my current seat but as i age i will need to sit more often so trying to figure that out. Would a seat bolster acting as a leaning post work? How to integrate into my current seat? Bad pic from brochure below.

Do you want the bolster behind your back or a cushion under your butt?

Either way, make or buy the bolster (or cushion) and use some vinyl straps, and some snaps to hold it in place. Folded and sewed strips of vinyl fabric are pretty strong. Sew them to the bolster or cushion and install female snaps on the ends. Now install male snaps behind or under your existing seat.

Does that get it?

thats a flip-flop seat back. it basically flips forward for you to sit facing aft. i believe its either TACO or MMC hardware

the bolster hinges are different. they move the forward part of the sitting surface up and back.

OK watching some videos and maybe I need to better define my want. A bolster appears to be made to flip up for standing, acting as more rear (butt and back) support and room when standing.

I guess I'm after is a two level seating solution. One on the rare time I want or need to hunker down behind the windscreen and one above the windshield for the normal days when I want to collect bugs in my teeth.

My first thought this morning thinking about this was a scissors lift of some sort to just raise up but could not find anything workable.

Joe, Captain's chairs often have flip up cushions, just for the reason you want one.

You might take a look at them and see how they work. Alternatively, simply install two of them replacing your current seat.
