I just purchased a 2000 Regal 2800. I need to modify my lift to accomodate the stepped hull but cant get a straight answer from anyone on what is actually needed. Has anyone done this? How much needs to be added in height and length to the rear of the boat lift to support the boat correctly?

Re: Modify lift to accomodate stepped hull

i havent done the mod....but

i was investigating stepped hulls and trlrs.

a stepped hull is uasually just floated on and off a trlr....cant see it being any different for a lift......

i would add to the lift....as your new boat is longer...? right?

i would also add the height of the step on the lift bunks.......just add more wood and carpet the wood.....
just make sure you adjust for the new center of gravity
and allways pull in the same way....and drop a plumb bob from over head....or a side whip to let you know when you've gone far enough to have the stepped section on the stepped bunk.

hope that helps
