Have a 1992 Force 150 w 211 hours running time. Three times last year and first time out this year, while cruising at mderate speed and engine running smoothly - it quites, no sputtering more like shut off. It will not start immediately, but if I wait 3-4 minutes then hit the starter it fires right off and runs fine. Any suggestions.

I'm considering replacing both of the ignition "black boxes" but the $200.00 each cost is stiff for a guess.

Sounds like a "hot" failure to me, Ronker.

If one powerpack was failing the engine would not die completely. I would be something that affects all cylinders.

Try heating electrical components with a hair dryer while the engine is idling. If yoour engine suddenly dies, you have just warmed up a part that needs replacing.

Good luck. :)

Thanks, but I don't think that it is heat related. It only happens on rare occassions and the wait before starting time is not long enough to let anything cool off and when it starts it runs great for the rest of the day.

Any other thoughts?
