Moomba boats

Hi everyone,
I have a 2015 moomba surf edition mondo. My surf plate is sticking sometimes in the down position. It finally went back up after toggling it many times. Could someone tell me what would be sticking on that plate and would water resistant lubrication work?

Never messed with one, but if the motor runs and its not moving then its binding, Lube and water don't mix well and doubt it would stay long

If the motor does not run then bad connection
