Hi Boaters. Looking for some advice about a cover for my boat while it sits in the slip this summer. First time getting a slip. We have been trailering a small Whaler each previous season, but now we have a larger boat, and can't really trailer her all the time. I have a 2000 Ebbtide Campione 182, and I am having trouble finding a proper cover to put on her when she is tied up in the slip. The rub rails don't seem to be big enough to securely hold a shock-corded cover, and there are no snaps or anything around the edges of the boat that might securely hold something down. I have a good cover for her when she is on the trailer, but of course in the water there is no trailer to attach the cover to. What do people normally do in this situation? Is there a website that I am missing that sells covers with some ingenious way of holding them down securely? Thank you all!

call a local mobile marine upholstery and canvas shop. they will measure and template the boat, and build exactly what you want

Using the dock cleats will literally rip the cover off every time a wave passes.

Standard Semi-Custom covers will work if you install snaps on the boat, aligned with straps and snaps where the cover straps are. I have done this myself.

If you have a custom cover made, the canvas maker will probably install snaps on the boat anyway.

good point. Once I tied my boat to tight to a cleat and someone stepped off the dock. The boat was lifted 6" on the port side due to being a light boat.

good should be "Good". to tight should be "too tight". Check you're spelling and grammar or you might be perceived as a kid with a substandard edumacation and your answers might be simply overlooked.
