Re: MOPAR GEER NUTS

Good evening 2 K...........
The Chrysler Corp. is very seceretive about many aspects of their vehicles, such as engine code numbers, new types of fluids, unique only to Chrysler products, etc. Don't go to the service writer with your questions, go to the parts department and befriend one of the parts guys, the older the guy the better.
I bought a 2001 Dodge Ram Van conversion last year and I wanted to change the tranny oil, filter and adjust the bands. I went to the Dodge dealer in the city next to me. They wanted $8.50 a quart for their new tranny fluid, only avaiable at a dealer. I went to the Chrysler dealer in the same town and got it for $7.00 a quart.
I think part of the price difference is that the Dodge dealer has humungous overhead, while the Chrysler dealer was about 1/2 the size.
Good luck.........Bob in Calif...

I would think the local transmission shop should have the info you need.
