mopar timing specs help

I have a 360ci Mopar motor (320hp). The dist has a petronix igniter. The motor has 10 to 1 flat top pistons, crane cam with 272 duration, edelbrock performance intake and a 4 barrel carb. Where should I set my timing for a start. I have read everything from 30 BTDC to 0 with no one having the same answer so I thought I would ask the people I trust! <br />P.S. There isn't any tags or stickers with this info on the motor. The boat is 30 years old and I am sure this is at least the 3rd motor so they are long gone.

Re: mopar timing specs help

it isn't really idle timing that matters. what counts is total advance. that should be around 30-32 btdc. idle timing is given by manufacturer because they know that will give it correct total advance at 3000-3200 rpm.
