I just was reading an old thread on boating etiquette. Obviously everyone is partial to their particular interests. I for one am an avid fisherman, not good at it I just like being on the water and chilling out in my old age. In my younger years I skiied all over the waters of Alabama. Now at 50 I got my very first PWC... a 1992 Waverunner. Yep, I've seen the water fleas so often spoken about. I've had a few fishing trips go bad thanks to the aqua punks. I've also danged near got swamped and run over by 15 boats Leaving the dam at the same time headed out at WOT to claim their fishing spots. Personally, I think the ass--les in the bass club(s) are just as inconsiderate with their 80 mph skeeters as the aqua punks are with their 'doos. It is STUPID to be on a waterway doing 70 mph on anything. No time to slow down for a stump or log or even a dropped or lost water ski. I am all for a maximum speed limit of 40 mph on ALL inland waterways. Too, I think it should be LAW that all fishermen should be required to posess at least two six packs of beer on ice while fishing.

Hi, Randy.

I'm with you all the way up to, but not including the beer.

Operating a boat while under the influence is every bit as deadly as DUI. Alcohol and gasoline don't mix, whether it is on the road or on the water.

Operating a boat under the influence in Texas will cost you your driving license just as though it had been DUI.

Take water, GatorAde or some other non-alcoholic beverage with you, save the beer, etc. for after the trip when you are safely home. :)

Well Randy & JB. now that I get that 60+ senior discount on stuff, I too enjoy the peace and serenity of fishing but a couple of times a week I still load up my old rag and go to the lake for a dose of that 70 MPH adrenaline rush. I like it. Normally it's in the middle of the week with little or no lake traffic.
Point being, that's why there are Fords and Chevrolets.

c/6

Hooty
