hi
i have a 14 foot fibre glass boat (about 600lbs.) with a 50 hp merc.
i do not have power trim. i have to set the manual trim on the motor at the 2nd from the furthest out i can to get the boat to plane properly.
this greatly affects the hole shot.
I had a ss raker prop on my other boat which worked great.
i would like to get the same performance for my older merc.
i am looking at a stilleto triad 2 ss prop 15" pitch. would this help.
i don't have a tach, the motor is running well at wot right now. i am using a 13" pitch aluminum prop that came with the motor.
any thoughts would be appreciated.
thanks

Re: more bow lift

I think something like smart tabs will make a big hole shot improvement for a lot less money.Without any performance specs from you can't make a accurate prop selection and the wrong prop can lead to motor problems and poor performance/mileage.
There is no doubt the proper stainless will improve performance.Shooting from the hip if your going to stainless start with the same demensions.

Re: more bow lift

thanks
i am under propped now that's why i thought of going to a 15" pitch.
all i really wanted to know is if the stilleto triad 2 is similar in charactaristics to a raker prop.
on my last boat i went from a 19" stock aluminum to a 20" raker.
it made a world of difference.
it brought the hull higher out of the water. improved fuel ecomomy and 3 plus miles an hour on the top end and i could plane at a lower speed.
