More carb issues

So I have my newly rebuilt 4.3 vortec in my boat. I installed the 4 barrel intake with the Holley 4160 4 barrel carb. The issue I have is the 4 barrel opens to soon and duos too much fuel on causing it to bogg down. Is there anyway to fix this or did I buy the wrong carb. This model said it was specifically for a 4.3.

Well a little research goes a long ways. I ordered the vacuum secondaries spring kit. Just confused why it didn't work out for my setup when it was suppose to be pre set for my motor.

Believe it or not, not everything is perfect right out of the box, **it happens! Contact the people you got the carb from and ask them why.

Don would I be making a mistake to just try changing the spring. I'm in hopes I can pick them up at a local auto parts store.

Let's see, your carb was supposed to be set up for your engine, so you go in an fix one thing only to find something else wrong. Then something after that. But after all your tinkering on it, do you really think they should take it back?

I hear ya. Ill try calling jegs first. Just trying to get a little use out of this before summer ends

Holley has a quick-change secondary spring kit, replaces the stock housing with one that the top can be removed easily to try different springs. Really worth it if you end up needing to try more than one different spring.

The 4.3 is a pretty small engine for a 4bbl. Does the bog occur going from Idle to full throttle or is it happening when you are planing and increase the throttle?
