More confused, more help pls,, 15 UPPER GROMMET

, Ok so it looks like the water tube upper grommet, changed in 1985 to part # 330426 1984 and earlier is part # 324045 here is my question the 84 looks like the old style grommet that was prone to collapsing and causing blockage problems?? so on these pre 85 motors would you use the newer 85 and up style grommet or go with the older part# both appear available? I have a few of these motors various year models that I plan to refurb, also could use some help to find them on iboats I type in upper grommet, grommet P/N etc. not sure what they call them. thanks.

When you go to a parts website and look at each part number, it looks like there is a design difference between the two. Don't know if they would interchange. I would go with the part number for the model year of your engine.
Maybe someone that has tried it in the past will chime in.

I'd stick with the original part # for the motor.
