First the background. I have an old Starcraft that I’m refurbishing complete with a 64-66 Montgomery Wards 45 or 50 HP (depending on either the cowl or Data plate). The previous owner had cut the ignition switch off leaving a buncha multi colored spaghetti to work with.

OK got the manual, (had to get one for a Chrysler can’t find one for a Montgomery Wards) wired the switch up like it says to, got some water logged gas outa the carb and she started up; BUT she won’t turn off! I switched the two “M” terminal wires with no effect. Anybody got and hints as how to configure the wires so I can cut the motor off without having to choke it down?

Re: More ignition problems

Cant tell you the specifics for your motor but
it is a simple circuit the motor runs when the
M M circuit is OPEN and stops when CLOSED.
One side goes to ground the other to the kill wire BLK/YEL from mag.
