Ya know, I've tried to stay out of all posts about cats. I even laughed for a minute at the torture looking device on the other post. (So this is a family site is it?)
But then it started to remind me of all the city boys of my youth that would tag along me into the woods away from suburbia outside of town. I built forts, made rafts from auto gas tanks, went fishing, caught hog head and watersnakes. It wasn't long after my brief popularity that I prefered to enjoy the woods in my own company alone than with most of the nit wits in my neighborhood. I know now that for some boys and older boys that being part of the he man cat haters club is an esteemed faturnaty for some and that it will never change. Forunatly, I've never qualified for the title.
I read books about wildlife and learned to respect it. Hand a just caught snake to one of these fellas and they might admire the creature for awhile ....whip it to the ground and stomp its head till its dead with a big supid grin on there face. And then ask can we catch another?
Each fella trying to one up the other to show who had the stomach to be the crulest to a creature they will never understand. Pity.

To me life is wealth. And as you know, with great wealth come great resposibility. Have I killed a creature? Yes for food and maybe by accident.

My father taught me to hunt deer and wild hogs not for the sake of just killing something, but I'd like to think we do it to become closer to our instincts and experience a little self reliance and the confidence and perspective.
Not to feed a power trip to inflate your ego, prove some point to someone else whom want to admire you.
The indians said grace after the kill, not before the meal. They valued all wildlife because it was part of their life as well. Imagine the how they felt after seeing their buffalo slaughtered not for the meat but for the hides. And in some cases just for the kill!..

Ok, getting to the cat part.

Well, I love dogs and cats, squirrels and deer and so on. I dont care for alot creatures but I wont harm them unless threatened by them.

So now I ask..the cat killer/hater/kittyKKK/etc....What kind of a man or boy is it that feels he needs to kill/hate cats in order to be a man. And dont tell me it is all in jest, I've seen two kittens tied together hanging from the clothes line.
For the record. I hate also...I hate folks who kill any living creature without a valid reason.

Typically, I prefer to debate this issue with fellas face to face when it comes up cause its easier for me to make my point, or get said person to explain his.

So I just want to state to all the happy "cat hater/killers/torturers " on this forum.

I'm not impressed with your idea of masculinity, or how much you've killed for the sake of killing, or for the sake of impressing the other members of your club.

I'm alittle self centered I guess, I prefer to impress myself...just my two senses.
