Got the console built, painted, and controls installed. Also built the seat, but I still need to build the pivoting back rest. I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel now.

The boat is still considerably lighter than before. When I first got the boat, and up until the teardown, I could never let the motor down into running position, even with the jack cranked all the way down and me not in it. Now, with almost all the heavy stuff already installed, and my 200 pound carcass in it, the motor can be left in the running position and the skeg is still 2 inches off of the ground. That means I have to have shaved a few hundreds pounds at least when I replaced the waterlogged structure and foam and removed the consoles.

Looks good Jason, I would recommend painting over that raw glass to protect from UV. Polyester of epoxy, they both hate it! Keep the photos coming! Good luck :)

Kenbo, I have a vat of rubberized no-skid floor treatment just awaitin' for me to finish attatching things to the floor, then it goes on. The boat sits under a carport at al times, so there is no sun issue at this time.

When I was young my parents took me to get a puppy, after looking at several very cute pure breed dogs, I finaly ended up going to the pound and got the fattest ugliest dog in the place because I knew that no one else would want him, and he shouldn't get the death penalty for being ugly. Anyways seeing your boat kind of reminds me of my old dog.

Oh yeah he turned out to be the best pet I ever had ;) :D

Re: More Skanky Update Action

Boaterntexas, the motor is a 1970, it runs great. I assume the weight was removed when I removed all that waterlogged floatation foam and waterlogged wood structure. Also, the windshield was pretty heavy, as well as the back-to-back seats and the consoles. The splashwell section I removed was also pretty heavy. I don't really know how much weight I removed, but it has to be more than 200 pounds, because the boat barley dropps when I get in to work on it, and I weigh 200 pounds. I am not complaining...

2K, I dont know if I like the implications of what you just said

are you saying that that his boat has a leaky bottom, makes water constantly, and would split wide open if five guys got inside at one time?

:p
