Morse Shift Control

Hello:

I have a '89 Thompson 240 Fisherman with a 5.0L Mercruiser and Alpha I drive.

Shifting into gear (whether forward or reverse) is sometimes smooth and then other times it seems very stiff. Giving the control more throttle is not the problem...it works smoothly regardlesss.

Could it be a bad control? Cable?


Any thoughts?

Also, it sounds fine shifting in and out of gear as it always did.

Ayuh,.....

How long has it been since the Lower Shift Cable has been Changed,..??..??

That's usually the 1st place to Look...
