I have a Morse shift controller that has 2 cables, one for throttle & one for shift . I took them off to do some work on the boat. I removed both cables ,now I put them back on and I'm lost. When I pull the shift button out the I can move the throttle forward with no problem like when i start it . What I can't understand is how when I put it in forward or reverse the throttle works. The arm wants to move in both directions on the throttle , how can that be? The cable only moves about 4 inches from idle to full throttle ,shouldn't the Throttle arm move the same way in both directions. This is a OMC stringer and it work perfectly before I took the cables off ,the cable are on the right spots too.
