Has anyone out there tried those mosquitoe killers that hook up to a lp tank? The 'skeeters' are terrible down in South Alabama this year and I wanted to here if anyone has tried them and do you think that it is worth the $$. Thanks.

We use 7-1/2 shot up here. Might be over-kill though. Them suckers sure are hard to hit though, I might need to switch to my improved cylinder choke in the 'ol Winchester.

Yeah, I got one of those things. It does help. If you put away from where you spending most of your time the skeeters will go to it instead of.

Its not a killer its just an attractor. They go to it and go up inside the thing and collect in a cup inside. I can now sit out on the deck or get in the hot tub without bleeding a couple quarts for the skeeters. Bark back at me if you have any questions about it.

7&1/2 shot that's it? Man it's 00buck or nothing around here.
Those propane powered attracters/killers work well from what I hear. I have a friend and an uncle that have them and they say that they don't know how they lived w/o them. Personally they stay off me I guess they don't like the taste. This is true if you eat a lot of garlic or take a garlic pill the skeeters don't bother you or at least as much. However this year I have had my share of problems too but then agian there is more of them than I have ever seen around here this year.

Thanks,
With all the sickness that the skeeters carry I think that I will buy one of these units. I saw an ad for one at Target for $259.00. I have a spare tank so I will try it. Thanks for the imput.

I had mine jetted for natural gas and ran a line to it. It stays on 24x7. Thats what you have to do in order to make it attract them properly.

Re: Mosquitoe killer

a friend in S GA told me a couple weeks ago he was going fishing with a friend who had one of those new mosquito repellant devices. and he said the skeeters were so bad from all the rain, he couldn't hardly open his mouth when walkin to the shed, or he'd end up swallowing a few.

i talked to him last weekend, and he said that device worked like a charm. it uses a little replaceable block of repellent. i saw the device at HomeDepot. there were small and big units. seems like the big one was @ $70. i think it used propane bottles & you could get packs of the repellent blocks... just a thought

How big are your skeeters CarpHunter? Ifn they are three or more inches high I'll sell you some of my traps. Might want to buy my chain to wrap around a tree to go with it. I lost three last week when they up and carried em away.
Never seen skitters until you have been to the North Woods.....everyone knows that the state bird for Minn. is the skeeter.
