I am in the process of upgrading my boat and have not been too acustom to the new style motors. I currently have an evinrude 75 HP 1983 model year. The boat I am going to possibly upgrade to has a 2000 Johnson 60* V4 90HP. I know it has VRO and some other things my old motor does not. What my question is what should I know about operating this new motor in comparison to my old one, if anything. And any other features this motor may have that my current one does not.

Thanks in advance, Mike.

Re: Motor Advice

2000 90 Is it a FICHT? If so be very very careful

Others would know better if you should stay away

Re: Motor Advice

Get an Owner's Manual, npd. That will explain it all.
