Re: motor bogs down after a while

You could check the vacuum right before the fuel pump to see if the problem is before or after the fuel pump. Insert a tee, I think 5/16"x5/16"x1/4" onto your fuel line. Then take a clear piece of hose(only a few inches long) and go from the tee to your fuel pump. Now take a vacuum gauge and attach to the 1/4" part of the tee. Run your engine and watch the vacuum. My manuel calls for a maximum of 2.5 in max reading. I think You could run at least double that with no problems. If you don't have a vacuum gauge you can get one at sears for around $10. Also check the clear hose for air bubbles to see if you've got bad connections. If your fuel tank is permanently mounted (not a portable) then also check the vent that comes out the side of your boat by your gas filler. Bugs can build nest in these and clog them up. If that vent is plugged it would shut off your fuel supply at some point. To check this vent just unscrew your fuel tank fill cap the next time your having this problem and see if it fixes it.
