Motor Dies & 1/2 Power

Motor dies at idle, and runs 1/2 power. No spark in one plug. Appears to run smooth. I am hearing stator, trigger, other electrical.<br /><br />50 hp 87' Force<br /><br />Garage kept. Maintained. Used regularly since purchased new.

Howdy J.I.F.,<br />Welcome to the iboats board.<br />A multi cylinder two cycle engine can have a dead miss and still sound like it's idling smooth because the cylinder(s) that are firing are firing every revolution instead of every other time like a four stroke. If you have one cylinger that's not firing, that's where all your power has gone. Your best bet is gonna be get yourself a shop manual for that engine and follow the electrical trouble shooting guide.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty
