put in the lake after got past no wake gave throttle died
started and played with motor for about 1 hour, then
rev motor up allittle then shifted to full speed boat took
off had to do this every time to get it to go, I can back
throttle off and motor runs smooth and great.

Has this boat been sitting for awhile? Is this the first time out this year? Sounds like the carbs need to be broke down and cleaned. You never know how well an engine is actually going to run until you put it under a load. There's no load with the muffs.

Thanks for the reply, got from a dealer she said they winterized it
but who knows. This motor and boat was a new boat trade in late last
summer I did pull the drain plugs on the carb bowls 2-broke but they had a
green tint color film that would scrape off like a powder

Yes, I would clean the carbs, fuel lines and replace the fuel if it is old..

Thanks guys, I pulled carbs back off, found ports on bottom of bowls
almost stopped up took a plastic tooth pick with the burrs on them and
completely claned out, installed back on motor.Took out on lake Monday
ran like a champ no dead spots.
