Does not having any t-stats have anything to do with it.I have 4new coils on it compression is good 120 range.4 new plugs .Idle is ok on gaqrden hose but stalls when I put it in the water.

Re: motor doesn't idle

Set your idle about 200-250 rpms higher on muffs as the backpressure in the water will lower it. Try setting you idle in the water if you can. I would also put in new tstats as you will be running a "cold" engine all the time. Hence, more fuel consumption and possible rougher running. It will be a better engine if you keep it at the correct operating temperature range.
