Motor feels like it is slipping out of gear at high rpm.

Every time I accelerate past half throttle the boat feels like it slips into neutral and the rpm’s soar. I did research on this and installed a new prop with the hub already pressed into it. Launched the boat into the lake and am having the same problem. There is no clunking or grinding metal noises. When I reduce the throttle it feels like it smoothly re-engages into forward gear and lurches forward… again, no grinding or clunking. Lower unit oil was changed last season before winterization (when the problem first started). Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Motor model is VE90TLESB. Transom height is 22” and it is on a 19’5 sea nymph fish and ski.

Dealer may have changed motors ? Did not get it right ?
2 people in boat. Driver and person watching the prop water for prop loosing grip on water.
