Motor Flushers Dual Flow or Single 1992 Force 70HP

Im sure this a quick easy one for you guys. Winterizing my boat looking to purchase muffs. Which ones do I need?

I was going to get these ones:

Side note: Anyone know where i can get the owners manual for this motor?

one of the reasons i am looking for the manual is to know which lower unit oil to use? maybe someone on here knows that answer?

That's the type of flushing muffs I use even though my water intake are on the "bullet" of the LU. It works although not perfect. As for the gear oil on the LU, I used the regular SAE 90 which I changed every year just before winter or at least after the season.

Jiggz thanks for the advice i ordered them.


I was also advised by a friend to run anti freeze through the cooling system using a submersible pump to winterize the boat. The book on outboards I have makes no mention of this. What are your thoughts?

Running antifreeze is not really needed.
Most outboards are self draining.
The area you live in will dictate what you should do to the motor.
Salt water? Flush it real good.Some people use a salt neutralizer,I don't.Wouldn't know where or how to get or use it.
Fresh water?Nothing really needed unless you suck up a lot of mud.Then flush it well.
To make the muffs work better,duct tape them in place.

This site sells after market manuals.Try to find the factory one.It's more expensive but well worth the $$$

For the lower unit oil I find its best to use high pressure hypoid lower unit oil. You can get it almost everywhere that sells oil. Brand does not matter much but I would get lube made for lower units. Usually comes in a tube like a big toothpast tube, though you can buy in quarts and gallons to but then you need a pump to get it in properly. Thats a pretty standard muff and will work fine for you.
