Hi i just purchased a 1994 fourwinns fling. THere was no motor in it when i bought it. I was looking for a motor and the turbo jet motor is hard to find and when you do find one it is really expensive. I was wondering if any one knew if i could take the motor off a outboard engine and put it in my boat. if anyone knows anything about if i could do that and what motor i could get to fit my jet assembly it would be greatly appreciated thanks jake

Is the jet pump still there? Is is Black or Gray? OMC made gray TurboJet, Merc makes black SportJet. I think yours would be a Turbojet.

The jet pump is still there. It is grey. The boat is supposed to have a 115 turbo jet in it. I didnt know if i could just put the top of a outboard motor in it and if so what years or makes would bolt onto my jet pump thanks.

Yes the 115 Turbo Jet is basically a crossflow V4 OMC. The 115 should be the one with the tuned exhaust or "bubble back" exhaust plates. The bolt patterns on the base will fit back further but look for something 1979 or newer. The newer the better since you are looking for a dressed powerhead.

There will be some differences but nothing you cant change. Obviously an actual Turbo Jet powerhead would be best. At one time, years ago, Flagship had some full dressed new Turbo Jet powerheads. I doubt they still have any but it may not hurt to ask. Talk to Jeff at 800-282-2840.

Good luck!
