Hey guys new here, I have a question I really can't get anywhere online. I bought a trolling motor from a guy online and it was only 60$ so I figured it would come with some work. That being said, the indicator is broke seems like a easy fix with that. But, he said something about the gear in the head comes loose when I push the foot pedal too far forward when it gets windy, and I need to buy the bottom piece cover for it so the cable can flex inside. If anyone could help that would be awesome. Thanks guys, just going by what he said.

Pull the head apart and see what's coming loose/broken/having issues. Could be a stripped broken plastic part or from your description it sounds like there may be cable issues or something going on with the rack and pinion.

As far as your MotorGuide Brute 756 trolling motor goes, they still have parts available for it. So you need to open up the head unit to see what is broke or not connected or working properly. Then look up the model and buy the replacement parts. TMs are not hard to work on. From your description, it sounds like the flat gear part (the rack) could be broken. And it is available for about $6 dollars. Part number MAP12501T But you need to see first. It could be something else. JMHO
