I have a foot control that has 'stripped' it's gears........I do not have any control over the trolling motor with the foot control........something 'popped' while I was trying to align the directional arrow with the bottom of the trolling motor.......
Question: what do you think is the problem?.....can it be fixed......or do I have to buy another trolling motor?...are those 'gears' plastic?.....

thanks,
slackdog

Yes, Motorguide does use plastic gears in their junk. Take the top of the head off and you will probably see it. If you get the impression I don't like Motorguide, You are 100% right!!

hey slackdog, did you git r fixed? if you have any questions let me know. not a hard job at all. to reply to the other reply, worked on them for years never seen a pinion gear or rack gear made of plastic! still running an 1985 model brute hasn't ever been worked on.
