motor height -water intake

Does the height of motor effect the water intake? If cavitation plate is at same plane as lowest part of transom. This is a 25hp on a 16ft. johnboat. :confused:

Ahoy, Seajay.<br /><br />If your cav. plate is at the level of the bottom, your water intakes should be under water, even on plane.<br /><br />Do you have a problem?<br /><br />Red sky at night. . .<br />JB :)

no problems. motor corently lower tan transom i run alot in shallow waters,thinking about installing a jack plate. just doing some research.would apreciate any info on prodject and what type of plate to use.
