Before I put the boat in this weekend, I want to review the motor height. It's a '08 Sun Tracker Regency with a 60 hp Bigfoot. Who has a similar toon and what mounting holes do you use? I don't have any cavitation issues. I'm wondering if the motor is deeper than it needs to be. It's a lot easier to adjust the height while it's still on the trailer.

Re: Motor height

Your Sun Tracker dealer can call the Tracker factory and they can tell them the exact motor height for the motor you have. That's what my service manager did when they were rigging my boat and they got it spot on.

Re: Motor height

when we put a 115 on our 24' Party Barge, the service manager at Bass Pro Shops in Vegas told us that Tracker recommends the motor be mounted all the way down, using the bottom holes.

so far, so good.

Re: Motor height

Hey Jeepman can you post up a pic, not that it would help with your question but it would help me and my kit boat.
It will help me to determin my starting point.

The manufacturer of my kit closed shop and I didn't recieve all the componets in shipments that I did get.

Hey Jeep, I have a 20 ft Starcraft limited w/60hp Bigfoot. The motor is mounted on the lowest set of holes and the AV plate is well below the pod. I have been wondering about this myself. I keep hearing the lower the better on pontoons but at some point there has to be a too low.

What I have heard is that if it is too low, performance will be affected, too high and the prop will ventilate.

What are you missing, or do you know?

I'm one up from the lowest setting. The lowest setting caused the steering cable to rub the deck.

I recieved 2 logs and a email telling me they have shut there doors and will be filling for bankruptcy.

Where was the company from? I ask because there is a kit co. in Ontario I visited a couple of years ago.
