I am experiencing a weird issue where the boat runs fine for a while but sometimes when I stop and then try and go again, the boat sort of hiccups and wants to die but then goes again fine. During the hiccups all my electrical devices shut off like my fish finder. This has just started to happened. I just got the boat back from servicing to replace the trim solenoid, not sure if that's related. Also after the servicing my speedometer doesn't work now...

Boat is a '98 Sea Ray with a 5.0 throttle body Mercruiser.

Sounds like your boat shop fixed one thing and broke two others

Disconnect the battery and look by the starter and trim pump. The main lead feeding the trim pump comes from the starter connection. See if something was not tightened securely.

after the servicing my speedometer doesn't work now...

Your speed-o uses a tine 1/4 inch tube coming from the drive. If the tube was pulled loose or cut it will be putting water in the boat when running. The tube comes from the drive and will be in close proximity to the trim pump

I have had this problem with my SeaRay 2x now. Once was the main feed wire coming FROM the starter, to feed the rest of the boat power(it's on the B+ side of the solenoid). there was a corroded main fuse. Then again this year, the fuse up under my dash that feeds the rest of the boat B+ was loose. Did the symptoms you were describing...be a place to start anyhow.....
