Motor Identification

I have an 1989 Valiant VIP. I need help identifying the motor. It has a OMC GM V-6. All I can find on the engine block is a stamp 4.3LG. On the spark arrestor cover it says, motor 985685, T0625039. I have searched on the web and these numbers dont cross reference to anything. Any advice?

The numbers listed are the model number of the Cobra drive - they have nothing to do with the engine... but, they were coupled to 4.3 OMC V-6s... what info are you trying to find about this engine?

Just trying to determine the exact motor I have for parts ordering and such. I have looked all over on the motor for a serial number or anything to identify the motor. The label on the thermostast housing is unreadable to.

Most of all of the websites want to know the HP or cubic inch of the motor to look up parts. I dont know any of this. Just trying to make sure I get the right parts the first time. Any other way to locate this information?

You need to find the model number on your engine. Here is the format.

I've searched the entire motor and cant find anything like Don posted. Here is everything I could find stamped on the motor.

Ayuh,... It's a 4.3l, V6... What's the question,..?? What parts,..??
