Is there a website that can be used to identify old outboards? If not, can anyone help with these two?<br /><br />Evinrude Big Twin, silver/blue: 25916-11122<br /><br />Elgin, Mach 1, green: 751-17199<br /><br />Thanks guys.

Hi Dropson<br /> Your evinrude is a 1954 model. Are you sure you got the numbers correct on the Elgin? How about 571 or 574? Elgin motors with ser#s that begin with 571 were made by West Bend. Beginning with 574 were made by McCulloch. For all I know your #s may be correct, as my list is incomplete. But it won't hurt to double check.

Evinrude is a 54 25hp I got that at:<br /> www.evinrude.com/docktalk/modref/evmodyr/evmodel<br /> Elgin model number begins with 571 or 574<br /> usually followed by something like 58751<br /> horsepower can range from 1 1/4 to 75 hp.<br /> 571 models were built by West Bend,574 models by McCulloch.

Thanks alcan and spike,<br /><br />That is the number on the Elgin. I checked it again. It does also say Sears and Roebuck on that metal plate. Any ideas?
