Hello all, I need some advice. Boat run good all day yesterday until I got one mile from slip. Then it just cut off like a key was turn off. So I traced all wire leads. I found my Blue wire came off my ignition and ground out. So I put back on and nothing.
So today I tested the ignition like the book said. One lead to white (M post) and other to blue (I post) on the ignition. And nothing I should get the voltage right???? If I did this right to the book notes I need a new ignition??

I have a 1980 75hp Chrysler.

I found it was the breaker, so I replaced it. Starts right up.

Re: Motor just cut off.

1980 SHOULD be a distributorless Prestolite ignition. White and Blue each go to one "M" terminal on this ignition or you will not be able to STOP the engine.

If the engine HAS a distributor, then it is correctly wired BUT is earlier than 1979

I live near West Chester. If you have more problems, send me a private message and I will give you my phone number.

You fix my boat last time. Rember me? You tighten all my head bolts. And my motor runs fine. It was the breaker. And it running good now. Thanks for all your info.
